Our Beginnings

A Place to Heal Ministries, Inc. (APTHM) was born out of a deep desire to support individuals in their spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being. Founded by Reverend Dr. Lynda Marie Jordan, our ministry began in 1996 as a response to students’ requests for guidance with their personal, academic, and spiritual struggles. Dr. Jordan’s heartfelt ministry reached students across the country, providing support, mentorship, and encouragement.
In December 2010, APTHM was formally established in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with a mission to demonstrate God’s unconditional love for all people. Our ministry is a sacred, safe space where everyone can come to find healing, wholeness, and community. We provide a place for individuals to strengthen their spiritual connection, find solace, and grow in God’s love.
Over the years, the ministry has expanded to include people from all walks of life. We are committed to offering a welcoming environment for those seeking a place to worship, fellowship, and grow in faith. Whether you’re visiting for the first time or seeking ongoing support, we invite you to join us in worship, prayer, and praise. Everyone is welcome.
About Our Pastor

Reverend Dr. Lynda Marie Jordan’s life and experiences uniquely equip her to lead and guide others in their spiritual journey. With a passion for education and a deep sense of calling, Pastor Jordan has dedicated her life to empowering others, both through her academic background and her ministry work.
Jordan earned her B.S. in Chemistry from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (NCATSU), followed by her M.S. in Chemistry from Atlanta University. She went on to receive her Ph.D. in Biological Chemistry from the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Her academic journey took her to Paris, France, where she spent two years as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute Pasteur, before returning to NCATSU as a Chemistry Professor.
In a pivotal moment of her life, Dr. Jordan responded to God’s call to ministry. She took a sabbatical from academia and pursued both a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) and Master of Public Health (MPH) degrees from Harvard University. Her deep faith and dedication to serving others led her to become an ordained Elder in the United Holy Church of America, Inc.
Pastor Jordan’s vast knowledge, compassion, and commitment to spiritual health enable her to support and lead individuals in their journey toward healing, growth, and fulfillment in Christ.
